JetBlue Takes Notes from Fast Food: All You Can Fly
Recently, JetBlue mirrored the tactics of fast-food restaurants by offering an ‘all you can fly’ package for a limited time at a fixed price of $599. This is a smart move in a down economy however there are some drawbacks to consider:
- Realistically who can take advantage of this offer and travel for a month in the down economy?
- Travelers need to take into account other expenses such as transportation and housing after they land.
- If purchased spontaneously, customers may wind up paying more than they would if they booked a last-minute trip with another airline.
I expected a campaign like this not from JetBlue, but perhaps from Richard Branson’s Virgin Airlines. Regardless of the outcome of this campaign, JetBlue gained a wealth of buzz and it may have very well paid for itself
